Beautiful Necklace,
All Proceeds Go
To Gorges Greyhounds

A wonderful and wonderfully sweet artist has made an incredible necklace to benefit Gorges Greyhounds. The proceeds from the sale of this "Indian Summer" necklace will go directly to rescuing, fostering, and finding homes for retired racing greyhounds. Here is the artist's description:

"A glistening and highly textured, hand fabricated gemstone chain that includes faceted grossular green garnet briolettes, faceted apricot topaz briolettes, faceted citrine rondelles, faceted garnet rondelles, faceted teardrop smokey topaz briolettes, and 24K gold vermeil Bali beads. This is the most luscious and elegant way to enjoy splashes of bright, rich colors! The "Indian Summer" features a very dramatic closure! The necklace closes with two long, sage green ribbons that can be adjusted to shorten or lengthen your gemstone neckline! The ribbon has been left long to allow you to have ample length to play with the size of bow you would like at the nape of your neck. Very dramatic from every direction!"

And the artist? She describes her work this way:

"Bijoux d'Odalisque is the invention of one goofy girl who truly likes to grocery shop in her sexiest shoes and most sparkling necklaces. (No joke!)
Unexpected luxury around the neck, wrist, or dangling from an elegant earlobe is an enticing and fun way to be feminine. My designs are inspired by literature such as "Great Expectations", "The Portrait of a Lady", "The Great Gatsby", "Interview with a Vampire", or sometimes a Jane Austen novel and the occasional Tennessee Williams play. (I don’t watch TV, so art, books, and movies are a great inspiration to me.)
Many ideas come from my many adventures abroad, where I bicycled through the hidden gardens of Versailles, discovered cobblestone antique shops in London, and old leather bookshops in Venice.
Enjoy wearing your ornaments as Elizabeth I, Marie Antoinette, Cleopatra, and all famously decorated women of the past have and please... wear them with PASSION. If "sparkly" is your favorite colour-you are shopping in the right place!
My Personal Philosophy Is: Life is too Short. Wear your jewelry with jeans, wear it for yourself, and wear it OFTEN! Your little black dress will survive having to share the attention."

The necklace lists for $700.
